TIPS TO INCREASE YOUR HEARTS PERFORMACE

Did you know that heart disease is the biggest killer in the world and claims more lives each year than any other disease?

Your heart is one of your body’s most vital organs, and the healthier it is, the healthier you stand to be.

Despite heart diseases claiming so many lives, the positives available are those relating to the fact that it is possible to prevent heart disease, improve the health of your heart and cardiovascular system, and prolong your life.

As the heart is essentially a muscle, it can be strengthened and improved like any other muscle in the body.

Here’s a look at how to increase your heart’s performance.

  • Aim to walk 10 minutes per day to begin with – If you rarely get exercise ordinarily, simply walking just 10 minutes per day is a great way to help gently improve cardiovascular health. As you get fitter, you can increase the amount of time and distance you spend walking.
  • Practice yoga each morning – Starting your day off right is absolutely essential when it comes to looking after your heart. Yoga is a fantastic form of exercise for those looking to improve the performance of their hearts as it provides gentle cardiovascular exercise, whilst also promoting relaxation. Stress can put a lot of strain on the heart so relaxation through yoga is very beneficial.
  • Eat more garlic – Garlic isn’t just a herb that is consumed for warding off vampires, it’s also a delicious ingredient with many cardiovascular benefits. Garlic helps to act as a vasodilator to widen the arteries and boost blood flow.
  • Consume plenty of vegetables – Studies have found that those that consume diets rich in vegetables are less likely to experience heart‐related health conditions that those that consume animal‐derived and processed ingredients. Vegetables are low in unhealthy fats and calories, and they’re rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber, which helps to reduce LDL cholesterol.
  • Eat healthy fats – Not all fats are detrimental when it comes to cardiovascular health. In fact, there are some fats out there that are considered essential when it comes to heart health. Healthy fats can help to reduce LDL cholesterol, they can lower blood pressure and blood triglycerides, and they can improve circulation. Healthy fats, like those found in avocados, nuts, and seeds are incredibly good for you and should be consumed on a regular basis.
  • Avoid sugary beverages – Sugar is incredibly calorific, and as you know, too many calories can result in an increase in body fat. Obesity is linked with heart disease and other cardiovascular health issues which is why managing your weight is so vital. To help manage caloric intakes, avoiddrinking sugary beverages as not only are they high in calories, but because they’re in liquid form they enter your bloodstream quicker. Instead, drink fresh mineral water in order to stay hydrated.
  • Try to relax – We mentioned earlier how yoga is beneficial for the heart as it helps to promote relaxation, but here’s a little more on relaxing. Stress is responsible for more than 1400 physiological responses within the body. Just two of these responses to stress include an elevated heart rate and an increase in blood pressure. Both of these could potentially be fatal. To help avoid stress, find ways of relaxing. Meditate, do yoga, practice breathing techniques, read a book, take a warm bath before bed, and listen to tranquil music.
