Essence of water

Water constitutes more than Seventy percent of our body.

Water acts as a cleanser, detoxifier, helps in digestion, provides glowing skin and refreshes the body as it helps in each and every process of metabolism.

We use water for cleaning our houses, utensils and our external body.
But do you know that it is the best cleansing agent for inside the body too!

In a healthy adult, about 2.5 liters of water is needed every day to replenish the lost water from the skin as sweat, respiration, urine and excretion.

Drinking sufficient amount of water prevents heart attack by 40-50%. The body loses water at night while sleeping, therefore blood viscosity, fibrinogen and haematocrit increases causing increase risk of heart attack.

Importance of Water Intake

Generally drinking about 1 to 1.5 liters of warm water on an empty stomach is very good for health, unless one has any ailments of heart or kidney. It helps in detoxification and regular bowel movements. One can start from one glass and gradually increase it to a litre and half.

Avoid drinking very hot or cold water as it hampers the digestion by taking away the energy needed for digestion and absorption of food.

Try to drink water slowly, half an hour before or two hours after food to aid in the normal digestion process. Unhealthy diet will make you thirstier at unusual times. So, follow healthy diet.

Always sit while drinking water.

Drinking from the traditional spherical or ellipsoidal shapes vessels is the best way to drink water because it reduces the surface tension and that is the reason you can drink more water without having the feeling of fullness.
