Types of constitution and Digestion

According to ayurveda there are three main type of constitutions and we are a blend of these bioelements in different proportions. They are biological energies found throughout the human body and mind. They govern all physical and mental processes and provide every living being with an individual blueprint for health and fulfillment.
They are dynamic energies that constantly change in response to our actions, thoughts, emotions, the foods we eat, the seasons, and any other sensory inputs that feed our mind and body. When we live into the fulfillment of our individual natures, we naturally make lifestyle and dietary decisions that foster balance within our system. When we live against our intrinsic natures, we support unhealthy patterns that lead to physical and mental imbalances.

People who have a Vata constitution are least able to tolerate a raw foods diet as they typically don’t have strong digestion, and the qualities of the raw foods bring them further out of balance. For Vata types, warm, cooked foods are grounding and nourishing, with the element of fire increasing Pitta, and water and earth elements increasing Kapha. People whose constitution is predominantly Pitta are able to tolerate raw foods the best of all the constitution types as they typically have strong digestion. The cold, dry quality of raw foods can be balancing for Pitta. People with a predominantly Kapha constitution may benefit from the lightness of raw foods if their digestion is strong. However, since the cold element can increase Kapha, reduce your consumption of raw foods if you have sluggish digestion.

Our body is the best judge for our diet .It will guide us what suits our body, so be always and always aware of its signals because one size does not fit all.
